The 2024 NBTE Annual Meeting was held on 28-29 November and organized by our Young Scientist Organizing Committee: Johanna Husch, Liline Fermin, Marie Loly, Micaela Gaspar Goncalves Fernandes, and Amaia Garmendia Urdalleta.

After an Emerging Faculty Lecture by Erik Vrij on Embyronic Bioengineering for Reproductive Success, we held parallel oral presentation sessions on:

1. Computational and In Vitro Modeling in Tissue Engineering
2. Advanced 3D Printing Techniques and Materials
3. In Vitro Model Development and Cell Signaling
4. Melt Electrowriting and Inks

Next, we heard about the exciting work of our sponsors, Miltenyi Biotec (Silver Sponsor) and GESIM (Bronze Sponsor), followed by a panel discussion on AI's Role in Science: Revolution or Risk? with Gerry Koons, Max van Duijn, and Wilson Silva.

To kick off the evening, we held rapid-fire and poster sessions, the Scientific Image Competition, and the NBTE General Assembly Meeting to welcome our new board member, Mani Diba. Lotte Krabbenborg then gave the Evening Lecture on Anticipating Societal Adoption Processes of New Technologies.

For Day 2, we began with Emerging Faculty Lectures by Anne Metje van Genderen on Predictive Models for the Kidney and by Sebastian Callens on Microtissues, Mechanobiology, Microscopy, and More. Our highly anticipated Career Session on How to Start Up Your Company featured Richard Rushby, Merlijn Jakobs, Aart van Apeldoorn, and Bart Sanders. The next round of oral presentation sessions focused on:

1. Bone Regeneration and Osteogenic Differentiation
2. Antibacterial and Infection Control in Biomaterials
3. Mechanobiology and Biomaterial Interactions

4. Hydrogels in Wound Healing and Cell Encapsulation
